The Whitefish Lake is a lake in southwest Alaska .

Whitefish Lake is located 80 km north-northwest of Lake Clark at an altitude of 355  m . The lake has an area of ​​33.4 km², a maximum length in east-west direction of 12 km and a maximum width of 3.9 km. Whitefish Lake has no major tributaries. It forms the origin of the Hoholitna River , which drains the lake to the west and is part of the river system of the Kuskokwim River .

The name of the lake is derived from the fish found there. The English term whitefish includes several fish species from the family of salmonids , including Prosopium cylindraceum ( "round whitefish"), the Great Siberian whitefish ( Coregonus nasus , "broad whitefish") and the Siberian whitefish ( Coregonus pidschian , "humpback whitefish") and the Herring whitefish ( Coregonus clupeaformis , "lake whitefish").
