The Hoholitna River is an approximately 265 km long right tributary of the Holitna River in southwestern Alaska .
The Whitefish Lake , 80 km north-northwest of Lake Clark , is the origin of Hoholitna River. From there the river initially flows in a westerly direction. After about 90 km it takes up the South Fork Hoholitna River from the left and shortly thereafter changes its course towards north-northwest. The Hoholitna River finally flows on the right side into the Holitna River , 55 km above its confluence at Sleetmute in the Kuskokwim River . The entire course of the Hoholitna River shows a strongly meandering behavior with numerous oxbow lakes .
