The Whittamore Pass is a mountain pass located about 350 m above sea level on South Georgia . On the Barff Peninsula, it lies at the head of the Martin Valley and from there enables access to the Desolata Lakes .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 2014 after Les Whittamore from the British Antarctic Survey , who worked as an electrician at Halley Station in Antarctica from 1989 to 1992 , managed the station from 1993 to 1999 and as logistics coordinator in from 2000 to 2014 South Georgia acted.
