Resistance movement in southern Brandenburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Resistance movement in Southern Brandenburg , mostly just called Resistance Southern Brandenburg , was a neo-Nazi organization in Brandenburg . It was banned in June 2012 by the Brandenburg Interior Minister Dietmar Woidke, among other things, because of “affinities with National Socialism ” and “active fighting against the liberal-democratic basic order ”. With the decision of the Federal Administrative Court of May 21, 2014, the ban has become final. The organization had organized so-called national martial arts tournaments, among other things. Under the umbrella of the organization, there was also a group called Spreelichter , which, under the name Die Immortlichen, had carried out short night torch- lit marches with white masks and sometimes several hundred participants - "like a mixture of Ku Klux Klan and Anonymous " - like a flash mob . These took place unannounced, mostly in smaller places (first in May 2011 in Bautzen , Saxony , most recently in May 2012 in Wismar , a total of around 30 times) and could therefore hardly be prevented or resolved by the police. This approach was soon copied by right-wing extremists in other German countries. The group was also assigned the operation of several Internet portals on which, among other things, right-wing extremist texts on race theory (“Volkstod” campaign) and professionally produced videos of the torch marches were published under the label Die Immortlichen . It is also associated with attacks against an editorial building of the Lausitzer Rundschau in Spremberg .

Members of the organization are charged with numerous other crimes. According to the Brandenburg report on the protection of the constitution in 2011, the former JN member Marcel F. from Lübbenau was the leading head of the banned organization . After the prohibition order, the police searched 27 apartments and business premises in southern Brandenburg as well as the club meeting in Cottbus . The Cottbus lawyer and former judge Maik Bunzel is the backer of the organization .
