Wiebke Kethorn (born August 10, 1985 in Nordhorn ) is a former German handball player .

Career

Kethorn started playing handball at the Nordhorner Club SpVgg Brandlecht-Hestrup. From 2002, the 1.68 m tall circle player was under contract with VfL Oldenburg , where she was used in the Bundesliga team from 2003 . With VfL she won the EHF Challenge Cup in 2008 , the Supercup in 2009 and the DHB Cup in 2009 and 2012 . After the 2013/14 season, she ended her career. At the end of October 2015, it was reactivated by VfL Oldenburg.

From March 2009 Wiebke Kethorn was also a member of the German national women's handball team . She was part of the German national team for the 2009 Women's Handball World Championship in China , where they finished 7th. She also took part in the 2013 World Cup and scored twelve goals in seven games.

In 2009 Wiebke Kethorn was awarded the prize for fair play and tolerance in sport awarded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

After the end of her career in 2014, she took over the coaching position of a youth team at VfL Oldenburg. Under her leadership, the Oldenburg B-Jugend 2015 became German runner-up.
