Wiesen is a district in the Heidkamp district of Bergisch Gladbach .

history

The name Wiesen picks up on a historical settlement name that was first mentioned as Wiesen around 1820 . The settlement was in the area around today's Wiesenstrasse and in 1858 had 34 residents. Due to the increasing industrialization in this area, the place grew to nine residential buildings with 56 inhabitants by 1905. The name of the settlement referred to the topographical location on the meadows along the Lerbach . The street name was introduced in 1898. In the first half of the 20th century, the building stock largely fell victim to the expansion of Bensberger Strasse.
