Wietske van Tongeren

Wietske van Tongeren (born December 26, 1980 in Zwolle ) is a Dutch musical performer who became known for roles in Elisabeth (Germany) and Rebecca (Austria).

Career

Wietske van Tongeren studied acting, dance and singing at the Tilburg Conservatory . She completed her studies in 2004. During her training, she gained experience with musicals such as Sweeney Todd (Mrs. Lovett) and Sleeping Beauty . Her first engagement took her to Vienna , where she was the understudy of the title role in the musical Elisabeth .

In addition, she took part in the musical Christmas in Vienna show, the concert version of Jesus Christ Superstar and the musical concert at the Donauinselfest in 2005, 2007 and 2008. In Stuttgart she was finally the first cast of Elisabeth in the musical of the same name. From September 28, 2006 to December 30, 2007 she was seen in the Raimund Theater in Vienna as Ich in the musical Rebecca . In spring 2008 Wietske van Tongeren played Cinderella in Into the Woods at the United Theaters in Bozen . From September to December 2008 she could be seen again as Ich with Rebecca at the Raimund Theater in Vienna. From February 26, 2009 Wietske van Tongeren was in the same theater in the role of Stephanie in the German-language premiere of Frank Wildhorn's musical Rudolf Affaire Mayerling on stage.

In the 2011/2012 season she played the role of Baroness Maria von Trapp in the musical The Sound of Music at the Salzburg State Theater since October 2011 . From November 18, 2012 to August 19, 2015 she played the female title role of Adrian in Rocky - The Musical in Hamburg. After a short break, she played this role again in Stuttgart.
