Rocky (musical)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rocky - Das Musical is a German-language musical by Stephen Flaherty (music), Lynn Ahrens (lyrics) and Thomas Meehan (book), which premiered on November 18, 2012 under the direction of Alex Timbers at the TUI Operettenhaus in Hamburg. It is based on the film of the same name by and with Sylvester Stallone .

As the first German production, Rocky made it to Broadway in New York . From March to August 2014 the musical was also performed there in the Winter Garden Theater .

Productions

So far, Rocky has been shown in the TUI Operettenhaus and the Winter Garden Theater . The production team was largely identical at both locations. In addition to Stage Entertainment and Sylvester Stallone, the producers of the premiere are also the two Klitschko brothers ( Vitali and Wladimir ) as co-producers. A special feature of the Rocky production is the final boxing match, in which spectators with a "Golden Circle" ticket can take the grandstand seats on the stage and the boxing ring drives into the auditorium.
