Winter Garden Theater
Winter Garden Theater is a theater in Manhattan , New York City .
It is located on the 50th and 51st. The building was built by the architect William Albert Swasey in 1911 and opened on March 10, 1911. It was renovated in 1922 by the architect Herbert J. Krapp . The theater has 1,526 seats for visitors. The theater is owned by the Shubert Organization . The longest running production at the Winter Garden Theater was the musical Cats . The world premiere of the musical West Side Story took place in the Winter Garden Theater . The music comes from Leonard Bernstein . The Tony Awards ceremony took place in 1975 at the Winter Garden Theater.
