Viktor Ivanovich Aljabjew

Viktor Ivanovich Aljabjew (born November 5, 1921 in Shazk , † February 4, 2000 in Khimki ) was a Soviet and Russian scientist in the field of timber industry . He was a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

Life

Alyabiev was born in Ryazan Governorate in 1921 as the thirteenth child of the Alyabev family.

In his youth he worked in Moscow on the construction of the subway , then in Kiev and in the Moscow region. In 1939 he entered the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute, but a month after starting his studies he was called up for military service in the Red Army . During the Second World War he was involved as a front-line chauffeur in the conquest of Berlin by the Red Army and was awarded the medal “For the capture of Berlin” .

In 1946, Aljabev enrolled in the Moscow Energy Institute and later studied at the technical department of the Moscow Forestry Engineering Institute. After completing his studies, he began teaching there.

In 1974 he received the title of professor. In 1987, with the support of the Ministry of Forestry, the USSR set up a branch for the management of forest transport and the construction of forest roads in the departments.
