Viktor Pavlovich Ziunel , ( Russian Виктор Павлович Циунель ; * in Mikun or Uchta , ASSR of the Komi ) is a former Soviet biathlete .
Ziunel attended school No. 1 in Mikun and was the Soviet junior champion in 1980, he was appointed to the national team in the same year. Already in the 1980/81 season he made his debut in the World Cup and reached on January 15, 1981 in Jáchymov with second place in the 20 km individual behind Terje Krokstad and before Jaromír Šimůnek the only podium of his career. Ziunel started for Komi and was honored as an Honored Master of Sport in 1981.
In 1982 he graduated from the Railway Transport College , a department of the Saint Petersburg State University for Transport ( Петербургский государственный университет путей сообщения ). He works as a trainer in Saint Petersburg .
