The Wildman River is a river in the north of the Australian Northern Territory . Like the three Alligator Rivers , it carries water year round, but its tributaries become a series of water holes in the dry season.

geography

The river arises in the northwest of the Kakadu National Park , a few kilometers north of the Arnhem Highway , at the confluence of the Wildman River East Branch with the Wildman River West Branch . It first flows east-northeast and then turns north and runs almost parallel to the West Alligator River . In Finke Bay , 20 km west of the mouth of the West Alligator River, it flows into the Van Diemen Gulf .
