The Donsbach wildlife park is a wildlife park founded in 1970 in the Donsbach district of the city of Dillenburg in Hesse .
History and existence
The park goes back to the Thiergarten Donsbach , which was built in 1640 by the Nassau-Dillenburg counts. Around 1000 wild animals were kept there in 1713.
Today, on 21 hectares of deer , ibex , sika deer , European mouflon , fallow deer , white deer, chamois , wild boars , donkeys and Exmoor ponies to see. In the petting zoo there are rabbits and pygmy goats . With the Formosa sika deer, the wildlife park is one of the few animal enclosures that has this endangered Taiwanese subspecies. A special feature on the zoo area is a meter-thick tree overgrowth, the "Mandersbacher Knorz". There is a near-natural playground as well as catering at a kiosk with outdoor seating and in the Oranienhütte .
