The Tambach Wildlife Park is an animal park in the Coburg district in Upper Franconia , which is connected to Tambach Castle in the district of the same name in the Weitramsdorf community.
In 1969 the wildlife park was founded by Alram Graf zu Ortenburg . The official opening took place on May 16, 1970. The park extends over 50 hectares and includes the former castle park area.
The Tambach Wildlife Park is home to numerous, mainly native, wild animals that are kept in spacious enclosures. These include red deer , fallow deer , wild boar , bison , mouflon and elk . Other large animal species in the wildlife park are Heck cattle and Sika deer . The animal populations have expanded in recent years. Today the park is also home to wildcats , lynxes and wolves . In addition, numerous birds of prey are kept. The Bavarian Falconry is located in the wildlife park.
A forest adventure trail opened on May 1, 2017.
