Wildlife population in Swaziland

The wildlife population in Eswatini (Swaziland until 2018) is mainly limited to the three nature reserves in the country, the so-called Big Game Parks , including the Hlane Royal National Park and the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary . Outside of these, the displacement of the natural habitat of many wild animals increases.

Duration

Despite its small size, Eswatini is home to at least 132 species of mammals , including 26 different antelopes , and 489–500 species of birds . There are also 112 reptile and 45 amphibian species . As extinct are among other Springbok , Roan and Suni . Most wildlife species, including the buffalo and cheetah , have been reintroduced since the 1960s.
