Wilferd Madelung
Wilferd Ferdinand Madelung (born December 26, 1930 in Stuttgart ) is an Islamic scholar .
Life
After receiving his doctorate in Hamburg on August 30, 1957 and his habilitation there , he taught as Laudian Professor of Arabic at Oxford from 1978 to 1998 .
Madelung is the son of Georg Madelung and brother of Gero Madelung , both active as aircraft designers.
