Wilfried Neuschäfer (born September 8, 1970 in Delbrück ) is a former German football player .

Career

The midfielder Wilfried Neuschäfer began his career at Delbrücker SC and later moved to TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus . In the summer of 1990 he moved to the second division promoted 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 and made his professional debut on July 18, 1990 in the 3-0 defeat of Schweinfurt against VfL Osnabrück . At the end of the season Schweinfurt was relegated and Neuschäfer moved to Fortuna Cologne . In Cologne he was only used irregularly and in 1993 moved to local rivals 1. FC Köln for one year . In 1994 he switched to the upper division FC Gütersloh , with whom Neuschäfer rose twice in a row. From 1996 he let his career at SC Verl end. Wilfried Neuschäfer completed a total of 44 second division games in which he scored a goal. After his playing career, Neuschäfer worked from 2004 to 2008 at Delbrücker SC as co- and goalkeeping coach before he became coach of the SuS Westenholz club .
