Wilfried Senoner

Wilfried Senoner (born January 20, 1945 in Ortisei in Val Gardena ; † March 26, 1999 ) was a South Tyrolean artist and sculptor .

Life

After completing the art school in Ortisei and training in his father's workshop, he went to Milan in 1964, where he studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera under the direction of the sculptors Marino Marini , Francesco Messina and Alik Cavaliere . After four years of study, he was awarded the master's degree in sculpture and art history. During his studies he also visited several painters and studios in order to perfect himself in painting. Between 1972 and 1974 he worked for an architect in Augsburg . When he returned to Val Gardena, he taught at the Ortisei art school. After ten years of teaching, he started his own business as a freelance artist.

He mainly designed altars , sacred art , which he made himself in wood, bronze or stone. Works by Senoner can be seen in churches in Europe.
