Wilfried Siebe

Wilfried Siebe (born December 29, 1946 in Preußisch Oldendorf ) is a German economist . From 1994 to 2012 he was Professor of Microeconomics at the University of Rostock .

Life

After graduating from high school, Wilfried Siebe studied mathematics (diploma) at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster from 1966 to 1973 . He then did a traineeship at the Paderborn study seminar and passed his second state examination in 1975 for a higher teaching post. From 1975 to 1981 he was a research associate in mathematics; In 1980 he was at the Institute of Mathematical Statistics with the dissertation Vererbbarkeitsuntersuchungen in content and masses to Dr. rer. nat. PhD.

From 1982 to 1987 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Mathematical Economic Research at the University of Bielefeld and at the economic theory department at the University of Bonn. He completed his habilitation in 1991 with the work General Equilibrium with a Continuum of Oligopolies in economics at the law and political science faculty of the Rheinisch Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . From 1992 to 1994 he was a Research Fellow at the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE) at the Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium).

In 1994 he became full professor for microeconomics at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Rostock ; In 2012 he retired. His main research interests were strategic finance and behavioral risk.
