Wilfried Willer

Wilfried Willer (born February 2, 1931 in Edigheim near Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German biologist and academic librarian .

Career

Wilfried Willer studied biology, chemistry, physics and philosophy at the University of Heidelberg . In 1960 he did his doctorate at the Zoological Institute of Heidelberg University on investigations into morphological right-left differentiations at Schabentegmina. From 1965 to 1993 he worked as a scientific librarian at the Heidelberg University Library.

In the 1950s and 1960s Willer published several articles on ornithological observations in the Palatinate, u. a. " Little Gulls and avocets on Roxheimer Old Rhine", "brood of Willow Tit at Neustadt ," " Merlin and black-necked grebe in Neustadt" or "Fund data in Pollichia Museum , Bad Durkheim , comprising the European Roller ". Together with Günter Groh and Kurt Vielhauer he published a list of birds from Neustadt an der Weinstrasse.

He also wrote short biographies about the naturalists Robert Lauterborn , Ernst Herzog and Otto Bütschli . He also published the autobiography of the surgeon Vincenz Czerny .

Willer also dealt with aspects of the history of the library system. Wilfried Willer lives in Heidelberg and is active at NABU .
