Wilhelm August Christian Abel
Wilhelm August Christian Abel (* 1748 in Zerbst ; † after 1803) was a German portrait , landscape and miniature painter .
Life
Abel was the son of the violinist Leopold August Abel , who also worked as a portrait painter. Abel came to Copenhagen in 1776 . There he painted “good portraits and cute landscapes”. Several miniatures of him are known. He lived in Paris for a long time, where he was a student of Jean-Urbain Guérin .
