Heinrich Woggersin OESA , also: Wuggersin, Wongersheim, Vongersch, Wagersin (effective between 1420 and 1454) was an Augustinian hermit and from 1436 titular bishop of Sebaste in Cilicia and auxiliary bishop in Cammin , later in Schwerin .

Life

Heinrich Woggersin was a conventual in the Augustinian hermit monastery in Anklam around 1420 . At that time he was part of the Observance of Matteus de Introduco in Rome. The order general Augustine allowed him to return to his homeland for only three weeks, after which he should come back to Rome. On December 14, 1435, General Gerhard von Rimini allowed him to accept the episcopal dignity.

On May 25, 1436 he was appointed titular bishop of Sebaste in Cilicia . At the same time, the Electus was commissioned to act as vicarius in pontificalibus (auxiliary bishop) of Bishop Siegfried II. Bishop Heinrich had a round seal 38 mm in diameter. In the middle of the Gothic niche is the Mother of God with the baby Jesus under a canopy.

The inscription reads: S 'FRATRIS HINRICI EPI SEBASENSIS

On a document dated March 3, 1454, a parabolic seal made of green wax was attached to a sealing tape cut from a membrane. The representation on it is the coronation of Mary and below a praying monk.
