Franz Wilhelm Bidembach von Treuenfels (* 1587 or 1589; † 1655 in Vienna ; also Wilhelm Bidenbach von Treuenfels ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Wilhelm Bidembach was born either in 1587 or 1589, his father was Felix Bidembach the Elder ; thus Bidembach was family Bidembach . From 1602 he studied at the University of Tübingen and received his doctorate in both rights in 1618 .

Bidembach belonged in Tübingen to the circle of friends of the chiliastic lawyer and theosophist Tobias Hess . This group also included, for example, Johann Valentin Andreae , Christoph Besold , Abraham Hölzel , Thomas Lansius , Samuel Hafenreffer and Wilhelm Schickard .

Then he was Hohenlohe Chancellor in Neuenstein and was then appointed Danish and Württemberg resident at the imperial court of Vienna. From August 7, 1628, he was professor of law at the University of Tübingen, but in 1630 he was imprisoned in Hohenurach for having passed on secret information. He was dismissed after four months, and although he was offered the professorship again, he did not take it again. On December 4, 1648 he was appointed Reichshofrat . Ferdinand III. Appointed Bidembach to the lower nobility , since June 6, 1654, both Wilhelm Bidembach and his descendants had the nickname of Treuenfels .

In 1644 he bought an estate in Ehningen , which Duke Eberhard III gave him in 1652 . was donated by Württemberg , in 1646 he received a castle in Oßweil . He died in Vienna in 1655, his body was embalmed, brought to his home country and buried in the church in Oßweil. He was married to Anna Regina Besserer von Schnürpflingen and had seven children with her, including Georg Wilhelm Bidembach von Treuenfels .
