Wilhelm Buchauer

Wilhelm Buchauer (born January 21, 1915 in Fürstenfeldbruck ; † January 5, 1990 there ) was a German local and state politician ( SPD ).

Career

Buchauer attended schools in Fürstenfeldbruck and Munich. In 1934 he joined the Reichswehr . During the Second World War he did front service in Poland, Norway and Russia, most recently with the rank of officer. From 1946 to 1962 he was employed by the Fürstenfeldbruck District Office. Among other things, he was head of the district youth welfare office and official guardian. In addition, from 1946 he was active in the German Trade Union Federation and in the workers' welfare organization.

In 1960 he was elected second mayor of the city of Fürstenfeldbruck by the city council, and two years later he took over the office of first mayor from Fritz Bauer . He stayed in office until 1978. In addition, from 1962 he was a member of the district assembly and a member of the Upper Bavarian District Assembly.

From November 1966 to November 1970 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .
