Wilhelm Corsten
Wilhelm Corsten (born July 20, 1890 in Keyenberg , † March 3, 1970 in Cologne ) was Archbishop's Chaplain and secret secretary to Archbishop Karl Joseph Schulte from 1921 to 1934 .
After graduating from high school in Erkelenz, Wilhelm Corsten studied Catholic theology from 1910 to 1914 at the University of Bonn and at the Cologne seminary . On March 7, 1914, he was ordained a priest in Cologne Cathedral by Archbishop Felix von Hartmann . With a thesis on the history of Cologne-Jülich Christianity Bergheim, he received his doctorate in 1920 at the University of Freiburg i. B. a doctor of theology. In 1939 he was appointed to the Metropolitan Chapter. In 1941 Corsten was Cardinal Schultes' executor. In the same year he was appointed Papal House Prelate (today's name: Papal Honorary Prelate , Prelate of His Holiness).
