Wilhelm Curtmann (politician)

Christian Ludwig Karl Wilhelm Curtmann (born February 24, 1833 in Worms ; † July 20, 1893 in Gießen ) was a Hessian lawyer and politician and a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Life

Wilhelm Curtmann was the son of the grammar school director Dr. phil. Wilhelm Jakob Georg Curtmann and his wife Sophie Luise, née Gebhardt. Curtmann, who was a Protestant, married Maria Anna Rosine, born Schäffer, on November 1, 1864 in Friedberg.

Curtmann studied law in 1850 at the University of Giessen and the University of Heidelberg . In 1853 he became court secretary attorney in Darmstadt and in 1854 court attorney in Friedberg. In 1862 he became a lawyer and procurator at the court in Giessen . In 1880 he became a lawyer at the regional court in Giessen .

From 1868 to 1872 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 14 / Nauheim after the previous MP Alexander Riess passed away. In the estates he took conservative positions .
