Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Döllen , mostly just Wilhelm Döllen ( Russian Вильгельм Карлович Дёллен / Wilgelm Karlowitsch Djollen ; * April 13th July / April 25th  1820 greg. In Mitau ; † February 4th jul. / February 16,  1897 greg. In Jurjew ) was a German astronomer at the Pulkovo observatory near Saint Petersburg.

In 1872 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .

The Döllen method he developed for astronomical length and time determination , in which star passages are observed in the vertical direction of the North Star , is known to this day. Because this only moves very slowly in the sky, the Döllen method can also be used if the time or geographical longitude is only known very imprecisely.
