Wilhelm Danckwortt

Wilhelm Danckwortt (born February 7, 1822 in Magdeburg ; † January 10, 1892 there ) was a German pharmacist , he worked on the creation of an all-German pharmacopoeia .

Life

In 1838 Danckwortt began his apprenticeship in the Engel pharmacy in Magdeburg, worked here and in Aachen as an assistant and in 1847 began to study pharmacy in Halle. After moving to Berlin, he passed his state examination . In 1852 he bought the sun pharmacy in Magdeburg. Dankwortt was chairman of the commission for the production of the German Pharmacopoeia and was a collaborator on the text of the Pharmacopoea Germanica, from which the Pharmacopoea Germanica I emerged in 1872, which was valid as an all-German pharmacopoeia.
