Scientific importance

Together with Otto Walkhoff , Dieck managed the integration of X-ray technology into dentistry. However , he did not publish the half-angle technique , which was often ascribed to him , in his textbook until 1911. It had previously been described in 1907 by the Polish dentist Antoni Cieszyński , who was then working in Munich .

Dieck played a major role in the rehabilitation of the amalgam in the wake of the amalgam controversy in the 1920s.
