Wilhelm Ederle

Wilhelm Ederle (born November 8, 1901 in Bissingen an der Teck , † March 11, 1966 in Tübingen ) was a German medic .

Ederle was born in Bissingen on November 8, 1901, the son of farmer Georg Ederle. After attending high school he studied in Berlin and Tübingen medicine and graduated in 1928 as Dr. med. He remained an assistant doctor at the Medical University Clinic in Tübingen until 1933, where he distinguished himself through scientific work on blood diseases and tuberculosis . Later he switched to neurology and psychiatry . He was the first doctor in Germany to treat schizophrenics with insulin . On March 11, 1966, Professor Dr. Ederle unexpectedly had a heartbeat.
