useful information
The French band Mickey 3D from Saint-Étienne dedicated a song to Johnny Rep with the title "Johnny Rep". At the end of the song, a live report is played in which the reporter comments on how Johnny Rep scores three goals in a game for his team.
In 2013, Rep admitted doping in the 1970s ("I probably swallowed an amphetamine pill like that before a European cup match").
Although he is far from any record of the national team with 12 goals in 42 international matches, he scored seven goals in the World Cup finals. He is the Oranje's record goal scorer to this day.
