The Dutch national football team at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina :

qualification

The vice world champion of the soccer world championship in 1974 was able to qualify for the tournament in Argentina without much effort. He lost just one point in a 2-2 draw against Northern Ireland . This resulted in the Netherlands qualifying quite early. Belgium was drawn into the Dutch group as in 1974 , but this time not an equal opponent.
