Daniel Ricardo Bertoni (born March 14, 1955 in Bahía Blanca , Province of Buenos Aires , Argentina ) was next to Mario Kempes at the time of the Football World Cup in 1978, the most expensive Argentine football player . The right winger took part in two world championships with Argentina , 1978 and 1982. In 1978 Argentina became world champions for the first time in their own country.

Together with Mario Kempes, who scored two goals against the Dutch, he became the hero of the 1978 World Cup final and scored the 3-1 final score. Although Bertoni took part in the 1982 World Cup in Spain , and scored twice in the preliminary round. After defeats against eventual world champions Italy (1: 2) and favorites Brazil (1: 3) in the second final round, the defending champions came to an early end. Bertoni began his career in 1972 with CA Independiente and continued his career after the 1978 World Cup in Spain with Sevilla FC . In 1980 he moved to Italy to AC Florence , before moving to SSC Napoli after four more years . Bertoni ended his footballing activity in the 1986/87 season in Udine with Udinese Calcio . In total, he scored 145 goals in 406 league games.
