Wilhelmus "Wim" Rijsbergen (born January 18, 1952 in Leiden ) is a former Dutch football player .

The defender Rijsbergen began his professional career in 1970 at PEC Zwolle and played for Feyenoord Rotterdam a year later . At Feyenoord he advanced to the Dutch national team and bond coach Rinus Michels nominated him for the 1974 World Cup in Germany . During the tournament he earned a regular place and was one of the starting eleven in the World Cup final against Germany . Rijsbergen stayed until 1978 and then went to the USA , where he played with Franz Beckenbauer at Cosmos New York . Before this move, he was part of the Netherlands' squad at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina . However, he only played in the preliminary round and lost his regular place to the young central defender Ernie Brandts . He ended his professional career in 1986 in the Netherlands with FC Utrecht .

He has played a total of 28 international matches for the Dutch national team.

After his active career, he worked as a football coach for various clubs. As assistant coach to Leo Beenhakker , he took part in the 2006 World Cup in Germany with Trinidad and Tobago . He then took over the national coaching post after Beenhakker's departure, but was replaced by Francisco Maturana in the meantime . From 2011 to 2012 he was the coach of the Indonesian national soccer team .
