Wilhelm Figl

Wilhelm Figl (born January 21, 1938 in Stögersbach ) is a former Austrian lieutenant general .

Life

He is a member of the Vienna Academic Burschenschaft Moldavia and the Academic Burschenschaft Germania Graz . In 2008 he was the main speaker at the commemoration of the dead of the Vienna Corporations Ring .

As a colonel, he was in command of the 3rd Panzer Grenadier Brigade from 1984 to 1986 . Then he was sent to the National Defense Academy. Until 1999 he was a division general defense attaché of the armed forces for Slovenia and Albania. During the Kosovo war he reported on the "systematic destruction of villages" by Serbian troops. Figl retired as Lieutenant General.
