Wilhelm Fischer (consumer cooperative)

Wilhelm Fischer (born May 17, 1885 in Flensburg , † June 26, 1970 in Hamburg ) was a German consumer cooperative, trade unionist and social democrat.

Wilhelm Fischer was born in Flensburg in 1885 and baptized as a Protestant. He attended elementary school from 1891 to 1900. Then he completed a commercial apprenticeship by 1904. He was employed as a clerk. Fischer was married.

Consumer cooperative

In 1906, Fischer began working in the Hamburg headquarters of the large-scale purchasing association of German consumer associations . Here he became head of department in 1912. In 1922 he was appointed full-time chairman of the board of the Westerland consumer cooperative . In 1923 he moved to the larger Unterweser consumer cooperative in Wesermünde, now Bremerhaven. Soon he received an offer from the consumer cooperative Leipzig-Plagwitz , where he was appointed to the board in 1925. From 1926 on the board of the Verband Sächsischer KG (until 1938), director of the supply ring, again VV of KG L from August 1946, chairman of the supervisory board of Sächsischer KGV. Arrest 18./19. Sept 1948; May '49 small criminal chamber regional court Saxony wg. Crimes according to directive 38 in connection with order 201, sentence: 1 year and 6 months in prison. Release from prison to Hamburg in May 1950. Until 1950–54 head of department in the GEG. Subsequently, he worked as a journalist at the ZdK.

When the SPD was looking for experienced economic experts for the citizenship after the collapse of the German Empire, he became a member of the Hamburg citizenship from 1919 to 1924 .
