Wilhelm Gantner

Wilhelm Gantner (born April 29, 1949 in Nenzing ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and entrepreneur in the electronics industry. From 1992 to 1994 Gantner was a member of the Austrian Federal Council sent by the Vorarlberg state parliament .

Wilhelm Gantner was born on April 29, 1949 in the Walgau community of Nenzing , where he first attended elementary school from 1955 to 1959 and then from 1959 to 1963 the secondary school. In 1963 and 1964 he then went to the music and pedagogical secondary school in Feldkirch before beginning an apprenticeship as a radio and television technician in Frastanz in 1964 . In 1968 and 1969 he continued his education at the Technical Academy in Esslingen , and in the same year began his professional life as a technician in the electronics department at an electronics institute. At the same time he attended the Oskar-von-Miller-Polytechnikum in Munich and passed the master's examination in 1971. From 1972 to 1974 Gantner subsequently worked as the operations manager of a radio and television department, in 1974 he founded his own company with a partner and worked there as managing director until 1982.

In 1982 Wilhelm Gantner founded his own electronics company in his home town of Schruns . Also in 1982 he was elected chairman of the Vorarlberg young economy . From 1985 Gantner was community representative for the Austrian People's Party in Schruns and from 1986 chairman of the economic association in his home community. Subsequently, Gantner was appointed to numerous functions in the Vorarlberger Wirtschaftsbund, in the ÖVP Vorarlberg as well as in the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Institute. Finally, on September 15, 1992, Gantner was sent to Vienna by the Vorarlberg State Parliament as a Vorarlberg member of the Federal Council. After the state elections in Vorarlberg in 1994 , Wilhelm Gantner resigned from this position on October 18, 1994.

In 1999 Wilhelm Gantner was given the professional title of Professor by the Federal President and in the same year he co-founded another company in the RFID sector, in which he later served as a board member.
