The state election in Vorarlberg in 1994 on September 18 was the 11th election of the Vorarlberg state parliament since 1945. As in the previous state elections , the Austrian People's Party won the election with its top candidate, Governor Martin Purtscher . It narrowly missed the absolute majority with 49.95% of the votes, but retained the absolute majority with 20 seats. In this election, only one green group stood for election after two separate lists that belonged to the spectrum of green parties had started in 1989. The Greens managed to win a mandate with the Bregenzerwald Kaspanaze Simma . The KPÖ came in 1994 for the first time since 1969 not in Vorarlberg state election on.

As in previous years, the People's Party and the Freedom Party formed a coalition following the state elections, which had a two-thirds majority of a total of 27 members. Likewise, the ÖVP with its top candidate again provided the governor, who was his III. Cabinet formed with an FPÖ regional councilor.
