State election in Vorarlberg 1974
The state elections in Vorarlberg in 1974 took place on October 20, 1974. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) won the vote for the first time since 1954 and achieved a gain of 6.9%. With a share of the vote of 56.9%, the ÖVP also won two additional seats and subsequently provided 22 of the 36 MPs. The Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), however, remained almost unchanged. Although it lost 0.1%, it was able to win a mandate. With 27.6% she was entitled to 10 mandates. The loser in the election was the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ), which lost 7.1% and also lost three seats. With 13.9%, it only had four members of the state parliament. The Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ) failed with 0.9%, as did the Austrian Democratic Union (ÖDU) with 0.5% and the Social Justice Party (SGP) with 0.2%, which only existed in the constituency of Bregenz ran for.
