Wilhelm Gottlieb Rosenhauer

Wilhelm Gottlieb Rosenhauer , also Wilhelm Gottlob Rosenhauer, (born September 11, 1813 , † June 13, 1881 ) was a German zoologist ( entomologist ).

Rosenhauer studied medicine at the University of Erlangen and received his doctorate there in 1838 on ground beetles and swimming beetles . In 1843 he became a conservator at the Zoological Institute in Erlangen and in 1858 he became a professor there.

He studied the systematics of beetles and published a list of the animals in Andalusia after a trip in 1849.

He was a member of the Linnaeus Society in Lyon , the Natural History Association Lotos in Prague , the Society for Medicine and Natural History in Brussels and the Entomological Society in Paris .
