Wilhelm Gustav Damm
Wilhelm Gustav Damm (born November 22, 1881 in Blankenburg in the Harz Mountains , † 1949 in Wetzikon ) was a German-Swiss composer and conductor .
Life
He completed his studies at the Conservatory in Leipzig . He then worked as a military musician and later as a bandmaster in the military. He already had engagements in Switzerland from 1907 to 1914 before moving entirely to Switzerland in 1923. There he was the conductor of a number of wind orchestras ( Langendorf Music Society in 1923, Romanshorn Music Association, Harmonie Wetzikon Music Association from 1930, Harmonie Bauma Music Association , Fischenthal Harmoniemusik , Harmonie Wettingen-Kloster Music Association 1936 to 1941).
