Wilhelm Harttung

Wilhelm Harttung (* 1857 ; † 1923 in Bunzlau ) was a German dermatologist and venereologist.

Life

Harttung studied medicine at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Georg August University in Göttingen . He became a member of the Corps Suevia Munich (1876) and the Corps Brunsviga Göttingen (1877). In 1885 he was at the Friedrichs University Halle to Dr. med. PhD. As a result, he became a student of the dermatologist Albert Neisser at the Silesian Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Breslau , with whom he completed his habilitation and was appointed professor. He was the primary physician in the Department of Dermatology and Sexual Diseases at Allerheiligen Hospital in Wroclaw . Harttung conducted research in particular on the treatment of syphilis. His daughter Renate († 1983) was a doctor, married to the chemist and cancer researcher Hans Lettré .
