Wilhelm Hermann Heckel

Wilhelm Hermann Heckel (born July 16, 1879 in Biebrich ; † January 12, 1952 there ) was a German musical instrument maker .

His parents were the instrument maker Wilhelm Heckel (1856–1909) and Emma Heckel nee. du Fais (1859-1921).

He began his training in April 1894 in his father's company, Wilhelm Heckel GmbH , and deepened his knowledge of musical instrument making through internships in Germany, England, France and the Czech Republic. Together with his father , Wilhelm Hermann invented and developed the Heckelphone and the Heckelphone clarinet, among other things, and continued to develop the Heckel Clarina . It was only when he took over the company after the death of his father that the Heckel bassoon made a major breakthrough.
