Wilhelm Hoffsümmer

Wilhelm "Willi" Hoffsümmer (born May 2, 1941 in Hürth ) is a German Catholic priest and author .

Life

Wilhelm "Willi" Hoffsümmer studied theology in Bonn, Freiburg im Breisgau and Cologne. From 1967 he worked as a chaplain at St. Suitbertus in Düsseldorf-Bilk , from 1971 to 1979 at St. Theresia of the Child Jesus in Düsseldorf-Garath . From 1979 to 2007 Hoffsümmer was pastor at St. Pankratius in Paffendorf , from where eight services were broadcast on ZDF between 1988 and 1995 . From 1995 to 2007 he also worked as a pastor at St. Cosmas and Damian in Bergheim-Glesch . From 2007 to 2016 Hoffsümmer was parish vicar in the parish of St. Lambertus in Erftstadt-Bliesheim . At the end of May 31, 2016, Hoffsümmer was retired and, with effect from June 1, 2016, initially for a period of one year as a subsidiary to the parishes of St. Lambertus in Erftstadt-Bliesheim, St. Martinus in Erftstadt-Kierdorf, St Appointed Joseph in Erftstadt-Köttingen, St. Michael in Erftstadt-Blessem, St. Barbara in Erftstadt-Liblar and St. Alban in Erftstadt-Liblar in the Erftstadt-Ville pastoral care department of the Erftstadt dean's office.

Hoffsümmer is also active as a book author and editor of collective publications. In total, he has published more than 100 works so far, which mainly deal with the design of family, children and youth services. Some of his works have been translated into several languages, including English, Portuguese, Finnish, Danish and various Eastern European languages. The total circulation of his publications is about 1.1 million copies.

Honors

The rectory in Paffendorf, which was renovated in 2007, was named Willi Hoffsümmer Zentrum .
