Wilhelm Lahm

Wilhelm Lahm (born March 19, 1889 in Laubach ; † February 9, 1975 ) was a German radiologist , gynecologist and clinic director in Chemnitz .

Life

After studying medicine, Lahm received his doctorate from Heidelberg University in 1913 . In 1931 he became chief physician at the X-ray Institute of the Chemnitz Health Insurance Association . The bombed-out building was rebuilt in 1947 under his direction. Based on the Scandinavian model, the X-ray institute was expanded into a tumor clinic with 80 beds as well as a surgical department and a special laboratory for cytodiagnostics . In the years 1954 to 1958, the installation of modern X-ray systems, including two carried deep therapy devices TuR T 200 and a surface treatment unit Müller RT 100 New in medical technology of X-ray diagnostic devices TuR D 1000 and a TuR D were 700 went with a universal coating unit DG 101 1959 Lahm retired and moved to Braunschweig .

Honors

In 1959, the GDR honored Lahm as an outstanding scientist of the people . The Medical Society for Radiology made him an honorary member.
