Wilhelm Lehmann-Leonhard

Wilhelm Lehmann-Leonhard (* 1877 in Silesia ; † 1954 in Ergoldsbach near Landshut ) was a German animal and genre painter .

Wilhelm Lehmann-Leonhard studied with the Belgian history painter Ferdinand Pauwels , in Düsseldorf with Hermann Emil Pohle and at the Dresden Academy with Friedrich Preller and Emanuel Grosser . He went on study trips to Russia, Holland, Belgium and Switzerland. He lived in Munich for a long time and received certificates of honor from the Brussels and Dresden academies. In the course of his career, Lehmann-Leonhard mainly painted genre pictures; typical were representations of rural pub scenes.
