Wilhelm Meier (engineer)
Wilhelm Meier (born June 11, 1895 in Hameln , † after 1979) was a German mechanical engineer .
Life
Meier attended school in Hanover and, after a period in the Navy, studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Hanover until 1924 . He then worked as a ship engineer for the merchant navy and later at Hanomag . In 1926 he became a lecturer at the Municipal Engineering School in Hanover. During the Second World War he was a member of the Armaments Inspectorate XI in Hanover. He was significantly involved in the construction work in the development of the Hanover University of Applied Sciences . He continued his lecturing activities at the successors of the municipal mechanical engineering school up to the Hanover University of Applied Sciences .
In 1967 he received the Lower Saxony Cross of Merit 1st Class and later the honor plaque from the Association of German Engineers .
