The library of the University of Hanover is a central facility of the University of Hanover . It is a publicly accessible, academic library that primarily serves the purpose of supplying literature to university members. The library is affiliated with the common library network and is a member of the Hanover online library system (HOBSY).
Duration
The various branch libraries have a total of around 280,000 media units. Except for a small numerus currens area in the library in the Kurt-Schwitters-Forum, the inventory is systematically organized .
Branch libraries
Central Library
The building of the central library in Linden-Süd was built in 1990 and enlarged in 1998 to a total of 1,700 m². Another modernization was completed in 2009. The library contains around 100,000 books and 300 current journals, mainly from the fields of business administration , electrical engineering , computer science and mechanical engineering .
Bioprocess Engineering Branch Library
The bioprocess engineering branch library is located in the Hanover district of Ahlem . With 6,000 media units and almost 30 current journals, it is the smallest branch library of the University of Hanover and holds literature on the subject of bioprocess engineering .
Diakonie, Health and Social Affairs branch library
The Diakonie, Health and Social Affairs branch library was founded in 1971 as the library of the Evangelical University of Applied Sciences in Hanover . With the incorporation of the Evangelical University of Applied Sciences Hanover into the University of Hanover on September 1st, 2007, it became a branch library. She is an associate member of the Association of Church Academic Libraries . The 100,000 media units and over 230 current magazines are spread across the specialist areas of social affairs, social work , religious education , diakonia, curative education and nursing science . This branch library is located in the Kleefeld district .
Library in the Kurt-Schwitters-Forum
The library occupies a special position in the Kurt-Schwitters-Forum because it is a joint institution of the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media . It houses 75,000 media units, mainly in the fields of library and information science , fine arts , architecture , design , communication studies , journalism / public relations , film and drama , plus around 250 current magazines. It is located at the Expo Plaza on the site formerly used for Expo 2000 .
