Wilhelm Michael Nebel (* 1804 in Geisenheim ; † 1848 ) was a German writer. He wrote mainly Catholic edification literature .

His devotional bell was printed in an edition of 12,000 pieces by 1836. Some of his works have also been translated into French. His writings, which were mostly published anonymously, were advertised as the works of a “witty and cheerful author” who wrote “the beautiful and sublime in prose or poetic garb for the edification of enlightened Catholics”. On the other hand, contemporary critics criticized the fact that he mixed “too many expressions of his subjective feelings” into the representation and raved about “sweets and indulgent feelings”.
