The rejection of the state budget in 1925 by Vice President Ernst Ziehm led to a government crisis. A minority senate consisting of the SPD, the center and the German Liberal Party was formed as the new Senate on August 19, 1925 . This government was tolerated by the Poles and the now non-attached MP Wilhelm Rahn.

In the People's Day election in 1927 he stood for the German People's Party and then remained a member of the People's Day until 1930.
